Three inquisitive stags eye the photographer who fires away like a madman, gulping down oxygen after hurrying up the steep shoulder of Stac Pollaidh, Assynt, to get into a position from where to see them lined up perfectly for this shot. Fortunately, this was just before the start of the hunting season so they did not run away - in fact, they appeared rather indifferent to my attempts at getting even nearer. They were part of a group of seven deer grazing under this landmark mountain, just north of Ullapool. Unfortunately, a blanket of greyish-white cloud refused to add even more drama to the scene.
